Are Bespoke Tailors Really Better?

Deciding on the right outfit to wear for that big interview will always be a difficult one, and what about finding the right suit for your wedding? That’s why here at Redwood and Feller we are one of the leading bespoke tailors in the area and will help you in getting an outfit that not only fits perfectly but is also more than suitable for the occasion you are wearing it for.

That’s exactly what we do here at Redwood and Feller as throughout a course of meetings that we can arrange around your availability, we will design and fit a perfectly fitted suit for you.

One advantage of using a bespoke tailor like ourselves is that you know the suit you will be wearing will be unique and one off. Much like a girl worrying about being in the same dress as others, it’s important to stand out from the crowd in your individual suit.

As we have years of experience in the tailoring industry, we can offer practical advice and guidance on the right attire for your event. Using this experience and the skills we have gained over the years, we will create a bespoke suit that is finished to the highest standards.

Much like the way wedding party planners will organise every last detail of your party in order to leave you to concentrate on other things, we will offer a similar service for your suit. Choosing Fabric for Tailor Made Suits

With a new year comes yet more events to fill the calendar. To ensure you look and feel your absolute best during social outings, you should consider investing in a beautiful new tailor made suit. With a wealth of experience producing high quality tailor made suits, here at Redwood and Feller we have a passion for high quality tailoring and are confident that we can produce the ideal corporate or casual suit wear. Perhaps the most important aspect to consider when looking for your new suit is which fabric to choose. Allow us to guide you through the various suit fabrics available on the market and the benefits and disadvantages of each.

Fabric Grading

Materials are distinguished by their grading with higher quality materials having higher numbers, generally 120+. The higher graded the fabric, the finer the material’s fibres. For a tight weave more material is required, hence higher quality fabrics are more expensive.

Fabrics that are commonly used in the tailoring of suits include:

Wool

Worsted wool is widely considered the finest suit material around. The wool is spun tightly to give it a strong and smoother feel. This durable material wears well and is generally ideal for wear all year round. Wool suit fabric is available in light or heavy depending on the weave but it is generally considered mid-weight.

Cotton

Cotton is one of the most commonly used fabrics for suit tailoring. As a fabric it generally provides ventilation and thus it ‘breathes’ well – making it ideal for summer wear. However, it is known to crease easily.

Polyester

Polyester is a synthetic material that should be avoided as a choice of suit fabric. The material traps body heat, making it very uncomfortable to wear after just a short time.

Microfiber

Similar to polyester, Microfiber is a synthetic material that provides an affordable solution. Whilst it provides more ventilation due to its fine fibres, the material tends to be of a lower quality.

We hope that our advice helps you when choosing a tailor made suit to wear on all manner of special occasions Birmingham or anywhere else. To discuss tailor made suits with our team of specialists, don’t hesitate to visit us here at Redwood and Feller today.

What Makes the Best Tailor Made Suits?

A high quality, well-made suit can really enhance your appearance and boost your confidence, whatever the occasion. Whilst it is tempting to head out onto the high street and buy the first suit that fits, many branded suits compromise quality for the brand name. If you are looking for tailor made suits that are made to measure and will guarantee you stand out from the crowd, you should visit us here at Redwood and Feller.

So, what is the key to making the very best tailor made suits? Well, here at Redwood and Feller we attribute our success to combining the finest materials available with extraordinary attention to detail.

Whether you are a bridegroom looking for a wedding suit or a businessman looking to impress at conference venues or on a daily basis in the office, by striving for perfection in every suit we tailor, you can trust that our team can tailor and personalise your suit to your exact requirements.

The Process

The process of producing your perfect tailor made suit will begin with a consultation with you to understand what occasion the suit is for and to determine your style tastes.

Material

At Redwood and Feller we only tailor suits using the finest cloth available. With an extensive range of cloths to choose from, it is important that you choose a colour and quality that you are entirely satisfied with.

Traditional or Custom Fit

When measuring you for your new suit, Master tailor Edward Rowland works on the principle of classic proportion and specialises in putting together suits that reflect a traditional style. His son, Elliott has developed a passion for contemporary tailoring and produces suits that achieve a modern look, taking the client’s figure and body shape into consideration to achieve a closer fit.

Finish

The secret to achieving an outstanding finished garment is in the care and attention to detail that our tailors possess when putting together your treasured new suit.

Here at Redwood and Feller we are waiting to hear from you. Feel free to browse through our website or alternatively you can call us today on 0207 828 9519 to discuss what is involved in creating tailor made suits further.

Fully Bespoke just A little to expensive at the moment? Why not try this . . .

Fully bespoke, just a little bit too expensive?

I understand not everyone can afford a handmade suit but we do have a very good alternative. Here at redwood and feller we also construct and make custom garments. You’re probably wondering what the difference is, well quit a lot to be honest. Firstly the cost, a custom garment is under half the price of fully bespoke with prices starting at £675.
Now a fully bespoke garment is made on the premises of Redwood and Feller LTD and all made by hand by master tailors, if I was honest it is the best as its moulded to you with each fitting.

Now a custom garment is slightly different, firstly we still take all your measurements, figuration, styles and cloth choice here at the shop or at a location of your choice, home or office for example. We then cut the suit at the shop then send it away to be constructed by machine. The process takes about 7 weeks then the garment comes back to the shop finished where we will give you a fitting, we like to give the garment a little salt and pepper as we like to call it just going over the suit taking it in here and there making sure its 100% as the end of the day your our shop front window when your in one of our suits.

If you have any questions about this service then please give us a call on 0207 828 9519

All the best Mr E Rowland

Steeped in traditional values whilst upholding a keen interest in modern trends, our business is the perfect choice for those seeking a tailor made outfit that impresses in terms of fit, style and long-lasting quality.

When looking for a bespoke tailor, it is important you consider the customer service you receive upon initially contacting the business. This will be a good indication of the ongoing service you can expect from the company. Selecting us as your preferred tailor means not only will you benefit from our wealth of industry knowledge and experience, but also our approachable and helpful manner.

In addition to the creation of formal wear such as ties, suits and womenswear, it is also advisable to ensure the tailor you choose provides alterations and professional cleaning; this means your attire will remain a perfect fit and completely spotless for the years ahead.

Whether you are a businessman seeking a tailor made suit to strike the right chord with potential clients, or you have chosen your wedding car hire Kent and are now seeking the perfect attire to attend the wedding in true style, make us your first port of call for a service like no other.

Much more than just a Master Tailor?

It’s not everyone who gets measured up and fitted by the Mayor of a borough but here at Redwood and Feller that’s what you’re getting as Mr Rowland has been elected Mayor of Broxbourne by Broxbourne council, so not just a pretty face after all. He will carry out his mayoral duties over the next year opening events and meeting all kinds of people from all different walks of life, while also raising money for his chosen charity. This is not the first time however as back in back in 1989 his also had the honour of being mayor and as he did such a great job back then they asked him again and he jumped at the opportunity.  But don’t think he will be taking his eye of the ball at Redwood and feller as the shop is open as usual.

8am till 5.30pm Mondays to Friday then 8am to 1pm every Saturday.
